Frederick County Watershed Video

Lately, with the help of many patient riding partners, I've started recording videos at local mountain biking venues. I do this not only to capture the rides for recall at a later date but also as a way to give newer riders an idea of what to expect when they decide to visit a trail system. We had a good turnout for the days ride and the weather was great.

When it comes to riding the Watershed it's best to have someone who is familiar the the area introduce you. Maps of the trails in the Watershed are nearly non-existent and the area is huge so without knowledge of the area and terrain you run a real risk of getting lost. If you're interested in riding the Watershed please check in at the shop to see what rides we have planned. This trail system is not for beginners that are still getting familiar with their bike and the way it handles. Look for more videos of local Frederick area rides in the weeks and months to come. For now, crank up those PC speakers and enjoy!

When they say go with someone that knows the trails do that! We went out today and left from the beginning of the state park I believe white and yellow trail proceeded to scenic overlook and ended up on blue the entire way. After completing the blue through the water shed and then the mile long hike up the hill was not fun. A great ride ( no crashes) and we now know where we made wrong turns and next time we will have a better idea of where we were at.

If im ever worried whether im a good rider or not, ill just refer to your video. Spend less time circle jerkin and learn to flow with the trail. Crashes and awkward riding usually live at the end of a video like this- not throughout. But in any case i applaud showing newbies they should stay off the 'shed :) ah it feels good to be a dick sometimes!

Wow, I don't know how old this last comment is... but that guy is an asshole. I wonder if he always knew how to ride?

Anyways, thank for taking the time to make this video! I look forward to riding these trails tomorrow.

I am new to the area from Oregon. The watershed has freeride sections right? if so, how can I get to them and to the area itself. Thanks.

Does anyone have any information on who took out the really nice wood sections that were in there last season? There were bridges, teeter-totters, ramps, and landings almost all made out of wood. Usually hunters do mess it up during the winter, but they rarely take the time to REMOVE them completely! Was this from DNR possibly? Anyone know information about this at all??
